It may always be a mystery why the clown instigates feelings of fear in some humor and others. The duality of good and evil makes this design quite ironic. For some, the tattoo of a clown depict innocence, humor and jest. Yet in other people it conjures up images of terror.

Both of these extreme emotions can be portrayed just as easily without tattoos. Often times you will see playful or jestful clown tattoos. tattoos of clowns with sharp teeth, blood or other scary characteristics are just as common.
