Abstract tattoos are very popular these days and can make a beautiful tattoo design. However, that wasn’t always the case. There was a time when getting a tattoo was taboo. Your employer and parents may have frowned upon it. It could have meant that you are unemployable, rebellious and unruly. Fortunately, times have changed and many people are getting all types of abstract tattoos.

Some people find getting tattoos an addiction. Once they get one tattoo, often times they find themselves getting several more. When you get your first tattoo, this is just one of the things you should be aware of.

Abstract tattoos are somewhat different than traditional tattoos. In years past people might get cartoon characters or the traditional “I Love Mom” logo on their skin. However, today there are all different types of unique tattoos available.

Tribal tattoos are very popular today particularly with arm sleeve tattoos. This type of tattoo, while not necessarily abstract, is somewhat unusual in the western world. There are often based on Pacific, native American or Asian design styles.

It’s important to remember that although tattoos are very stylish they may not always be. You need to keep in mind that the tattoo that you get today will be there 50 years from now where your a grandparent! It’s likely that your parents will remind you of this fact for years to come.

But, getting tattoos, especially abstract tattoos that are meaningful to you, is a great way to express your originality and your personality and make a statement at the same time. If you can live with the fact that you may limit your employment opportunities or clothing options, by all means get a beautiful abstract tattoo. When getting a tattoo make sure you have completely thought out your decision and you’re sober – after all, tattoos are most definitely permanent!
